At Academic Comeback Initiative, we believe students need the best support system to succeed; the quality of our volunteers are crucial to our mission. The 'academic coaches' are high school students who excel academically, and want to prepare others to be able to thrive as well. We choose younger volunteers, rather than adults, because age gap is crucial in communication. Elementary and Middle School students closer in age to our volunteers view them as  older role models; High School students able to connect easier with students closer in age. Academic coaching is meant to accommodate to the students,  therefore it all starts with the coaches.
