Capone Andrade, a member of the Class of 2026 at Greens Farms Academy, has been set on building his nonprofit. The mission of the nonprofit: Ensuring students have the help to support them through scholastic hardships, so they're better prepared to progress through their academic careers. This mission is upheld by the nonprofit's free tutoring for grade-school students throughout Fairfield County.
At the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, Sue Wilchinsky, head of Community Service at Greens Farms Academy, was eager to collaborate with Capone to help Academic Comeback Initiative reach more students.
This began with an after-school program, focused on gathering volunteers from Greens Farms Academy to work with students from the Covenant School of Bridgeport, a non-tuition private school in Bridgeport, CT (Click to learn more). Every Thursday, volunteers visited Covenant School and assisted students with assignments and preparing for exams.
Annually, Greens Farms Academy hosts a sporting event known as Pack the House. The Greens Farms community service club plays a role in organizing the event as a means of fundraising for their various programs on campus. This year, the club decided to allocate a portion of the funds to Academic Comeback Initiative for their volunteering efforts.
Ultimately, Capone decided to donate the program's allocated portion to support the Covenant School. Below is the speech he delivered to the Greens Farms Academy student body and faculty.
"After being at Greens Farms Academy for 2 years, something that has always stuck with me is when Mr. Whelan (Greens Farms Academy Headmaster) talks about how GFA prepares students to lead a life of purpose. These students are the future, and your support will help them lead their lives of purpose," said Capone.
This was the first tutoring program that Academic Comeback Initiative has had with a local school. Over the 8-month program, 11 students volunteered from Greens Farms.

In a final statement, Capone added: "Having the opportunity to work with these students was one of the highlights of my year. I am beyond grateful for the Greens Farms Academy Community Service club as well as the Covenant School of Bridgeport for allowing Academic Comeback Initiative to bring in volunteers and carry out our mission. I'm excited to continue working with both organizations in the future to continue helping students achieve their academic dreams"
